Professor Frédéric Lemaigre

Frédéric Lemaigre is Professor of Molecular Biology at the Health Science Sector of the Université Catholique de Louvain, and head of the research team “Liver and Pancreas Development” at the de Duve Institute, Brussels. Taking advantage of the group’s longstanding expertise in transgenic mouse models, Frédéric Lemaigre investigates fundamental mechanisms driving hepatic cell differentiation and liver morphogenesis. The results are shared with experts in translational research to improve experimental protocols which aim at producing hepatic tissue for regenerative medicine.
